How Bruce Pearl can solve Auburn’s Bryan Harsin problem

After locking up Bruce Pearl as their “lifetime” head basketball coach, Auburn is now considering how they can get rid of head football coach Bryan Harsin after a tumultuous season.

Pearl – the ultimate cheerleader – has enough energy and enthusiasm for two coaches. So let’s unleash it on Harsin. Let’s see if Pearl can coach Harsin first, injecting him with some of Pearly’s winning, smiling enthusiasm. If even half of Pearl’s marketing energy rubs off on the sullen football coach, it could save Auburn a few million more in buyout money.

As Joe Goodman points out, Auburn basketball already pays for football coaching buyouts. Hand over the football program to Bruce Pearl. He’s your most precious resource, and he’s locked away for life. Let it do double duty. The Pearl will find out.
