What was Tacofah Lewis doing on campus at Ole Miss on Saturday. The answer was short and direct.
“I was invited,” laughed Lewis. “It was a great opportunity for me to come.”
All joking aside, 2024 Pearl (Miss.) High School offensive lineman gets his tires kicked by Ole Miss offensive line coach Jake Thornton, who has shown a penchant for identifying incumbent talent early on. the beginning.
Although Lewis currently receives little interest from other FBS programs, he seems to have the makings of a future college football offensive lineman. He trains with coach Warren Rowan in the Jackson area, who also coaches Jimothy Lewis (no relation), who is currently ranked as the nation’s top offensive forward in the Class of 2024.
“It made me a lot better,” Lewis said. “He allowed me to focus a lot more on my technique. He’s just a good guy to be around.”
Lewis played offensive tackle at Pearl last season and plans to be in the same spot this year. He tipped the scales at 6-3 and 270 pounds at Ole Miss on Saturday.
“I will probably take the indoors to the next level, mainly because of the height,” Lewis said.
Lewis, along with Jimothy Lewis, Isaiah Autry (Tupelo Christian, 2024) and Ryan Rainer (Jackson St. Joe, 2025) each met Thornton before leaving the Ole Miss campus on Saturday. Jimothy Lewis and Autry already hold offers from the rebels. Tacofah Lewis and Rainer could arrive soon.
