Pearl Marie Jackson obituary

obituary

Pearl Marie Jackson, a friend to all who knew her, died peacefully in her sleep on March 12, 2022. She was born to Vera and Norman Jackson in San Gabriel, California on September 22, 1948. She grew up on the beaches sunny California, being a “California Girl” through and through. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1979, where she lived most of the rest of her life. She had three children whom she loved very much.

Pearl has held many jobs over the years and retired from auto owner’s insurance about 10 years ago. She was able to make friends wherever she went. She had a wonderful smile and sparkling eyes that made people gravitate toward her. She would especially like to sit around a table and play Skip-bo, Rack-O or any other card game all night. You would find Pearl always singing or humming, always having music in her soul. She loved memories of the ’60s and dreamed of the day owning a ’57 Chevy. She also spent hours making jewelry to give to friends.

The place Pearl loved more than anywhere else was being at the beach. Having your feet in the sand, feeling the warm, humid air and having your camera ready to capture whatever inspires you right now. There are stacks of photos of all her friends over the years because she loved capturing moments with the people she loved.

Pearl was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission for the Church in Santiago, Chile. She spoke frequently of her faith in the Church, always seeking to serve where she could.

Pearl was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Vera Jackson, her sister Norma and her brother Paul. She has many friends and family who will be there with open arms and smiles waiting to hug her as she passes through heaven. She had missed them all so much over the years. She leaves behind her children Liz (Warren) Earle, Patrick McPartland, Marie (Kevin) Hauschildt and many great puppies. As a family, we want to thank everyone who has been there for our mom. Many of you were there for the good times while helping her through the tough times. We would especially like to express our sincere gratitude to her longtime friend Marilyn (Andrew) Smith, who has always been an incredible support not only for our mom but for our entire family.

Pearl has chosen to be cremated, with a funeral held Saturday, March 26, 2022, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 6890 Whitmore Way, Cottonwood Heights, 84121. If you are potentially sick, we ask that you stay home and watch the broadcast of his funeral; otherwise, all are welcome.
