Pearl River tops Pope John Paul – Crescent City Sports

In a game between the two competing St. Tammany Parish boys’ bowling programs in the New Orleans area, Pearl River beat Pope John Paul 18-9 Friday at Bowling USA in Slidell.

Pearl River (4-5) trailed 5-3 after Game 1 before rallying in Game 2 to take a 9-7 lead. Still, the game hung in the balance as Pope John Paul (2-6) held a one-pin lead in total pins over the course of two games.

Behind Aaron Simon’s 178 game and Nathan Beadle’s 171, the Rebels shot a final game 898 and won six of eight points and the super total.

Izaiah Auglair’s 475 series led Pearl River. The Jaguars’ Jack Kingman closed with a 188 for a 516 series.
