South African actress Pearl Thusi said she has no sympathy for musician Zola 7 due to the gender-based violence allegations made against him, via a tweet on March 6.
PEARL THUSI: ‘GBV MOMENTS MAKE THINGS A LITTLE TICKY’
Pearl Thusi said things were “a little tricky” when it came to Zola 7. In light of the deaths of rapper Riky Rick and hip-hop artist DJ Dimplez, Tweeps is attracting support for Zola 7.
“If we can lose a legend like Zola 7 right now, the celebrities will all act smart like they used to cook him porridge. Nobody lifts him now during a tough situation. The only person I’ve seen last year the lifter was Cass, the others are just weight chasers,” @RealMrumaDrive tweeted.
Pearl retweeted the post saying that the VBG allegations against Zola 7 make things “a little tricky”.
“The awkward GBV moment made things a little awkward,” Pearl tweeted.
VBG’S CLAIMS AGAINST ZOLA 7
So what were the GBV allegations made against Zola 7 that Pearl is referring to? In 2017, Zola 7’s wife, Sibongile Nkabinde, reportedly opened a case of physical and psychological violence against him. The report also claims that Nkabinde filed a complaint after an altercation turned violent, but the musician claimed to know nothing about it.
“Look, I don’t know anything about these reports you’re talking about. I’m at work and I’m not interested in talking to the media. If I had something to say, I would use my social media,” he told Tshisa LIVE.
However, other complaints were filed against the musician and he was also accused of letting his dog attack a journalist he had invited to his home. Clearly, Pearl did not let these claims pass.
