Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl record 13.97 million units sold, on course to become the best-selling Pokémon remakes

Nintendo released its sales data for the fiscal period ending December 31, 2021, showing that Pokemon Shiny Diamond and shiny pearl had the biggest opening for a remake within the franchise and is on track to become the best selling Pokemon remake of all time.

Since its launch on November 19, BDSP sold a total of 13.97 million units. This places the game as the ninth best-selling first-party title on the Nintendo Switch and less than a million copies away from surpassing Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu, Let’s Go, Eevee!, Omega Rubyand Alpha sapphire after just over a month on the market.

ORAS is still listed as the best-selling Pokemon all-time remake at 14.46 million units sold, which means BDSP has probably already surpassed it with the number of copies sold in January and will be crowned the best-selling remake in Nintendo’s next report.
