It’s the perfect time to be a fan of the Sinnoh region! Many players are currently enjoying Pokemon Legends: Arceusand for many of them, it’s a follow-up to Gen 4 remakes. Pokemon Shiny Diamond and shiny pearl launched late last year to celebrate the 15th anniversary of DS games. As usual, The Pokémon Company was able to cash in on the nostalgia. Nintendo’s latest investor report just dropped, and it shows that Pokemon Shiny Diamond and shiny pearl sales are just shy of 14 million.
Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl sales
The most recent sales data covers the period from October 1 to December 31, 2021. During this period, Pokemon Shiny Diamond and shiny pearl sales reached 13.97 million. With the extra month since then, they’ve almost certainly topped 14 million. It puts them correct behind the let’s go games, which have totaled 14.33 million sales since their launch in 2018. Pokémon Sword and Shield enjoy a much more comfortable lead at 23.90 million units sold. Here’s how they compare to all past remakes:

- Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha sapphire —14.46 million

The most popular Nintendo Switch games enjoy strong post-launch sales, so there’s a good chance Pokemon Shiny Diamond and shiny pearl sales will exceed 15 million this year. That would make them top sellers Pokemon remakes of all time.
