Bastiodon is a Rock/Steel-type Pokémon, making its weaknesses Fighting, Ground, and Water-type moves. Using a Fighting or Ground type move would be ideal as they are both super effective. These types of moves essentially deal 2x the damage regularly when paired with Bastiodon’s combo weakness becomes 4x the damage. Although a water-type move will also work against the shield Pokémon’s weakness, these move-types are still at the standard 2x damage.
Below is a list of a few Pokemon and their moves that would deal high damage to Bastiodon in Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl:
- Lucario – Counter, Aura Sphere
- Garchomp – Mud Shot, Earth Power
- Machamp – Counter, Dynamic Punch
- Golem – Mud-Slap, Earthquake
The Rock/Steel-type Pokémon lacks the attack power to fight back once it suffers a major health deficit. Playing on Bastiodon’s weaknesses will definitely result in a win against the Pokemon. His high defensive stat may mean the battle lasts longer than usual, but with patience trainers can defeat Bastiodon.
