Real estate agent acquires Pearl Beach cafe and grocery store

The popular Pearl Beach Café and Grocery Store recently changed hands with boutique real estate agency, Coast Realty, now coming on board in an effort to help support the local economy.

Kevin McCunn, owner of the cafe and grocery store for nine years, said the venue has huge potential and welcomed Coast Realty’s investment.

“The hospitality industry has had two incredibly difficult years going through a global pandemic,” McCunn said.

“As a business and usually busy holiday destination, we faced many challenges.

“We are in such a wonderful place in Pearl Beach, but we just haven’t been able to maximize the full potential of the place during these trying times.

“We are incredibly thrilled to have the team at Coast Realty join us in making this place as beautiful as it truly deserves.”

McCunn will remain in a leadership position under the guidance and direction of the Coast Realty team during a transition period.

In what may seem like an odd move for a real estate agency, Coast Realty co-founder Troy Rushton said it was a no-brainer move for the organization.

“When that opportunity came up, it absolutely made sense to step in and help out,” Rushton said.

“We see this as a way to give back to the local community and plan to use it as an opportunity to better meet the needs of locals and visitors to the area,” he said.

“We plan to support other local businesses, from the products we serve at the cafe and stock at the grocery store, to the musicians used at events, we hope to create something really special for all to enjoy and enjoy. to be a part of.

“We feel a real sense of responsibility to help support this little piece of paradise in Pearl Beach.

“We want to make sure it remains as much a special place for the locals as it is for the guests who visit it.”

Chef and hospitality expert Pauly Mac will work alongside Chef Cam to improve the cafe’s overall offering and menu strategy.

It is reported that Pauly will review and improve everything from operations and service to vendors and store food.

The team will also focus on giving the site a new face, with high and low seating options and new spaces for all to enjoy.

The acquisition builds on Coast Realty’s already established position within the Pearl Beach community through sales, rentals and vacation services.

This year, Coast Realty is sponsoring Opera in the Arboretum for the fourth year.

The esteemed event is hosted and organized by the Woy Woy Rotary Club which attracts visitors and top talent from all over.

“Coast Realty has always been a big supporter of Woy Woy Rotary.

“This year we welcome them as a Premier Sponsor and we are extremely excited to see how they plan to tie their newly acquired cafe to our wonderful event and our guests,” said John Regan, Head of Sponsorship at the ‘Opera.

Pearl Beach Progress Association President Russell Grove said it would be a beneficial decision for the entire community.

“The Coast Realty team truly cares about Pearl Beach and we are always grateful for their continued support and involvement in our village and community activities,” Grove said.

“We are thrilled to welcome them even further into the community with their newly acquired business and look forward to seeing what they will do with this wonderfully located venue.”
