The Rolls-Royce Pearl® 10X engine development program is progressing well and has successfully accumulated more than 1,000 hours of testing, both on the Advance 2 demonstrator and on the Pearl 10X engine configuration.
The first dedicated Pearl 10X test engine ran for the first time earlier this year and exceeded its target thrust levels on the first test, making it the most powerful business aviation engine in the Rolls portfolio -Royce. All tests conducted so far have proven the reliability of the engine and shown that it will meet the performance requirements to power Dassault’s flagship Falcon 10X.
The Pearl 10X is the newest member of the advanced Pearl family of engines and the first Rolls-Royce engine to power a business jet from the famous French aircraft manufacturer. Dassault’s choice of the Pearl 10X for its new top-of-the-range product is further proof of Rolls-Royce’s position as the engine manufacturer of choice in business aviation.
The development program to date has included rigorous testing of the new ultra-low emissions ALM combustor, compatible with 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and the new accessory gearbox, which allows for higher additional power extraction. One of the next steps will be the first complete powertrain, including its bespoke Spirit nacelle, EBU and mounting system, which will enter the testing program later this year.

It combines innovative technologies derived from the Rolls-Royce Advance2 demonstration program and proven features from the Pearl family to deliver world-class environmental performance. This includes an ultra-efficient fan; a high-pressure compressor with an industry-leading pressure ratio and six blisk stages; an ultra-low emissions combustion chamber; a two-stage shroudless high-pressure turbine as well as an upgraded four-stage low-pressure turbine that is one of the most efficient and compact in the industry. This suite of technologies is packaged in an all-new ultra-thin pod from Spirit AeroSystems.
