The historic Pearl Stable will become a 1,000-seat concert hall

SAN ANTONIO – The Pearl Stable building is set to become a 1,000-seat “world-class” music venue next spring, the Pearl announced on Tuesday.

Announcing “the next chapter in San Antonio’s iconic musical history,” officials said the venue, dubbed Stable Hall, will also come with an outdoor beer garden.

The concert hall and beer garden are scheduled to open in the spring of 2023.

The goal is for Stable Hall to become a “renowned music destination and showcase for national, regional and local talent,” the statement said. In doing so, the Pearl chose famed music buyer Jay Sweet to handle bookings and WoodHouse to operate the venue.

The Pearl said it will attract a variety of genres like pop, indie, Latin, blues and R&B.

“The Stable Hall is the oldest concert hall in San Antonio. This venue will capture the authenticity of historic dance halls across the country and usher in the next chapter of music in San Antonio by honoring our region’s roots and showcasing the best in live music,” said Elizabeth Fauerso, CEO of Pearl. Commercial, in the Liberation.

“…With a commitment to celebrating the joy of live music while honoring musicians and their craft, Stable Hall will be a place where we can come together in the shared joy of music.”

According to the release, Stable Hall will feature a “Jewel Box Stage” in front of the floor seating and a curved balcony.

The venue will have wooden floors, hand-painted murals, a restored wooden ceiling and a green room for artists, in addition to bars and pre-show areas.

San Antonio and Austin-based architects Clayton Korte and Austin-based interior design firm Joel Mozersky Design are leading the redesign.

For the biergarten, it will be open to the public before the shows or on any other occasion, the statement said. Besides craft beer, it will also serve “traditional Texan and hill German fare” like kolaches, bratwurst and pretzels.
