the White pearl foundation will hold its fourth annual Breakfast for Brain Cancer event this year on Friday, March 18 at the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Point Piper.
The brunch, which begins at 10:30 a.m., will raise funds to support the brain cancer research program of The brain cancer group, Care2Cure (TBCG).
TBCG is focused on improving outcomes for brain cancer patients in all areas – from care to finding a cure for this devastating disease. They achieve this by taking a multidisciplinary approach to deliver meaningful programs aimed at improving the lives of brain cancer patients.
The founder of the White Pearl Foundation, Suzane Peponis-Brisimis, tells The Greek Herald that “raising awareness of the challenges faced by brain cancer patients, the low survival rates and the need to support research is of the utmost importance, as is funding for research”.
“All proceeds raised from the brunch will go directly to brain cancer research,” adds Ms. Peponis-Brisimis.
“We must advocate for brain cancer patients and their families who face a difficult journey, if there is to be any hope for improved brain cancer survival rates.”
On brunch day, patient and TBCG Ambassador Matthew McCarron will be the keynote speaker and will share his story of his brain cancer journey, as well as a personal family story.
Associate Professor Michael Back, Radiation Oncologist and Director of TBCG, will also update attendees on developments in the organization’s programs, with a focus on the ever-expanding TBCG database.
Ms Peponis-Brisimis says she is looking forward to the event and is ‘very grateful for the strong response we had at the brunch and to our award donors for very generous donations’.
“We sincerely thank everyone who continues to support the White Pearl Foundation,” she said.
“From our loyal attendees to our guest speaker, our award donors, our volunteers, our media sponsor, The Greek Herald, and our communications sponsor, Orama Communications, and many other donors listed on our websitewe couldn’t do it without your help.”
