The PEARL Awards will host the 25th edition

The PEARL Awards Nigeria has officially announced that the 25th edition of the prestigious awards widely recognized in the Nigerian capital market will be held later this year.

To this end, the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the PEARL Awards 2022 was recently inaugurated.

According to the President of the PEARL Awards, Tayo Orekoya initiates the official process and activities that culminate in the presentation of the awards on the last Sunday of November every year.

In his remarks, Orekoya said the 2022 PEARL Awards themed: “Sustaining Excellence Through Tenacity (SETT)”, reflects the current realities of the PEARL Awards, our businesses and our capital markets, locally and globally.

Inaugurating the CWC, Orekoya said, “On behalf of the Board of Governors and the Project PEARL Awards Secretariat, it is my honor and privilege to welcome you all to this call to selfless service and we look forward to your dedication and of your commitment as we set out for the heavy task ahead of us”.

It should be recalled that the awards were canceled during the years 2020 and 2021 due to the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and events around the world, including Nigeria.

Orekoya therefore reiterated that “PEARL Awards is therefore faced with the Herculean task of bringing the Awards fully back into the corporate space of Nigeria after two years of inactivity.”

He noted that “our stakeholders’ aspirations for the return of the Pearl Awards cannot be overstated and we must therefore do everything we can to ensure that this year’s awards exceed their expectations.

“Over the years we have built and maintained a legacy through the PEARL Awards and this is evidenced by the high reputation and credibility that Nigerian businesses and other stakeholders attribute to the awards project for its impartiality and trust. in verifiable indices to determine annual winners.

“The challenge ahead of our Central Working Committee (CWC) inaugurating today is to ensure that through your ingenious ideas, innovation and commitment, we are to meet and exceed the standards set for a class event. world of this nature,” he added.

On the same day, the PEARL Awards Nigeria made history with the appointment of its first female CWC President, Ifeoma Adibe-Chukwuka.

She leads a 15-man committee of top-flight professionals tasked with the resolution to come up with ideas, initiatives and innovations that would make the 2022 edition fundamentally different and exceptional beyond the price point over the past two decades and half.

The PEARL Awards recognize the outstanding performance of companies listed in the Nigerian capital market based on real facts and figures. The awards are based on fairness, fairness, transparency and impartiality which continues to attract major players in the capital market, at the annual awards.

Orekoya also added, “It is gratifying to note that despite the tough and challenging business environment, some listed companies have continued to deliver superior performance, a leap forward in earnings and good returns for shareholders.
